Preparation: in refrigerator, soak 1 lb. (454g) of salted fish in 6 cups (1.5 liters) of fresh water for 8 hours, changing the water three times. Longer soaking or more frequent changing of the water will further decrease the salt content. Cook according to your favorite recipe.
