Our filters are tested at independent air filter testing facilities that are members of the National Air Filtration Association (NAFA). These test facilities utilize a true and proven scientific method for air filter testing created by the American Society of heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning engineers, ASHRAE 52.2 -2007. Some filter manufacturers use their own rating system, which is not approved as an industry standard. What is a merv rating? Minimum efficiency reporting value, or MERV for short, is a filter rating system devised by Ashrae, the American society of heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning engineers, to standardized and simplify air filter efficiency ratings for the public.
